Membership Types

NAHB serves the the entire home building and remodeling industry. About one-third of NAHB’s members are home builders and/or remodelers, while the remaining two-thirds work in closely related fields such as mortgage financing and building products. Our members include:

Builder Members
Builders are the heart and soul of NAHB. Builder members are directly involved in building homes. They include small-volume builders, production builders, light commercial builders and remodelers. Associate Members
Associate members provide products or services to home builders. They sell lumber, windows, appliances, etc. or offer services such as mortgage finance. Most associate members join NAHB though their local home builders association. Large national suppliers join NAHB directly through the NAHB Leading Suppliers Council. Affiliate Members
The affiliate member category enables the employees of builder and associate members to reap the rewards of NAHB membership at a fraction of the cost. Not every HBA offers affiliate memberships, so please check with your local association for availability. International Members (Builder or Associate)
International membership is available to any individual who resides outside of the United States. International members join NAHB directly through the national association. To learn more about how to join, international builders and associates should contact NAHB at 800-368-5242.

Major National Suppliers
Leading building suppliers and service providers can participate in NAHB by joining the NAHB Leading Suppliers Council. Membership is open to all industry suppliers. If you are a major supplier or service provider, you can learn more about how to join by contacting Chris McLarty at 800-368-5242, x8247.

Student Members
Student members study building-related subjects at their high schools, vocational schools, technical schools, community colleges or universities. Students join NAHB by becoming members of their local student chapters.
